On this potential federal government Shut Down Friday, a new addition to the Nanny State files. This gem is right up there with New York Mayor Bloomberg banning trans fats from NYC restaurants.
The Daily Caller reports this morning that City of Boston Mayor Tom Menino has decreed that “sugary drink” sales from parks and other public places have, heretofore, been banned. Your government cares, or so goes a press release issued by Menino’s office:
“I want to create a civic environment that makes the healthier choice the easier choice in people’s lives, whether it’s schools, worksites, or other places in the community.”
Mr. Mayor, with all the due respect one can muster in cases such as these, let them eat cake!
